The Art of Influence
In a world filled with noise and competing messages, mastering the art of persuasive communication is like wielding a superpower that can cut through the clutter and make a lasting impact.
Persuasive communication is the magical, spellbinding dance between words and emotions, where the power of influence lies in the hands of the speaker or writer. It's the "art" of crafting messages that ignite sparks of curiosity, challenge beliefs, and gently guide minds toward new realms of possibility. With persuasive communication, you hold the key to unlocking hearts, sparking change, and inspiring action, all through the magnetic force of your words.
To be honest, most of my time working in Corporate, I communicated the default of "she beats to a different drummer." That is how I felt most of the time, and I gave myself a pat on the back with the thought, "Okay, I'm thinking outside the box." Yes, this was true; however, I had trouble making my point - closing the communication "deal," if you will. So I set out to work on it in several areas of my life, both personal and business.
While going through my Coaching program with iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching), I realized that everything I do now is a form of persuasive communication. Coaching involves a high level of self-awareness, establishing rapport, active listening, strategic questioning, goal orientation, feedback, encouragement, motivation, inspiration, empowerment, and autonomy.
I help my clients visualize their desires, next chapter, outcomes, and transformation based on a set of tools and a framework that works best for them. Coaching and persuasive communication share the goal of influencing individuals toward positive change!
By understanding these similarities, one can enhance their skills in both coaching and persuasive communication to effectively guide and influence others.
Again, if corporate influence is an art form, how well do you want to draw?
